It has been accepted that beta cells are being killed by white blood cells (lymphocytes). Is there a specific reason for this destruction? I have done some research and found out some information. One can argue that these lymphocytes that attack are simply defective and are running astray. This is my first presumption. There may or may not be an antigen for the lymphocytes to attack located on the beta cells. Nevertheless, they are causing an autoimmune reaction.
With more research, I can locate more descriptive and meaningful solutions for this abstract concept. With the information I already have, I can hypothesize that a hormone can be sent out to the lymphocytes to cease their attack. In addition, because the immune system is so stable, we can afford to destroy the defective lymphocytes so the attack will cease. More will be given on this case soon.
